What's New in the 2022 Grand Wagoneer?
As the 2022 Grand Wagoneer is an all-new model, everything in it is new. It combines the familiarity of a Jeep® model with plenty of new luxury amenities.
Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer: What's the Difference?
The Grand Wagoneer has a sibling: the Wagoneer. But what is the difference between these two models? The most notable difference is that the Grand Wagoneer is more luxurious than the Wagoneer. For example, the base engine in the Grand Wagoneer is a 6.4L V8, which produces 79 more horsepower and 51 more pound-feet of torque than the base Wagoneer. Other standard features in the Grand Wagoneer that are only optional in the Wagoneer include the following: a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, a 19-speaker premium system, and retractable running boards. And, of course, the Grand Wagoneer features more noticeable and premium style choices.
Powertrains
The powertrain and chassis expectations of the new Grand Wagoneer are expected to follow the RAM 1500 truck. Buyers can select between V8 and V6 engines. Jeep's plan on the model is to have a plug-in hybrid powertrain, challenging models like the Land Rover Range Rover. The Grand Wagoneer will also boost a three semi-autonomous driving system with 48km or 30 miles of electric range. The rear and all-wheel drive setups are included in the menu to use easily. Besides, the model has an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission to improve the vehicle's fuel economy.
The base model is expected to have a 3.6-liter V8 engine with a mild-hybrid system generating 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The V-8 will have a 5.7-liter Hemi engine with 410 lbs feet of twist producing 395 horsepower. And, we suspect there to be a 3.8-liter V6 EcoDiesel to be an optional engine for the SUV with a 480 pound-feet of torque and 260 horsepower.
The TRX trim is expected to have a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine available in the Dodge Hellcat models and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. It will generate a torque of 650 pound-feet producing 702 horsepower.
Exterior
It is pretty hard to know everything about the exterior part of the model from the teaser images produced, but what we know is that the new Wagoneer for sale will not feature the wood applique down the side as the previous model. The model is an authentic SUV wagon expected to have a long flat roof. The door pillar will be an upright design.
It is also likely to have the shape of the Grand Cherokee with a more significant proportion. The model will feature seven iconic slot grilles with vertical vents. The lineup will have a more upscale outlook and a unique design with these features. The new Grand Wagoneer for sale will be the first to have the seven-slot grille as the former did not feature any.
