2025 Ram 2500
The 2025 Ram 2500 arrives with significant updates that strengthen its position in the heavy-duty pickup segment. The truck features a restyled exterior and major mechanical and technological improvements, including an updated diesel engine.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2025 Ram 2500 lineup starts with the Tradesman trim, which includes telescoping mirrors, a black grille, and 17-inch steel wheels. The Big Horn adds chrome exterior elements and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels.
Offering off-road focus, the Power Wagon features powder-coated bumpers and a Power Wagon vertical bar grille. The Laramie trim adds an updated chrome billet-grille design, while the Rebel stands out with 20-inch black diamond-cut aluminum wheels and all-terrain tires.
The Limited Longhorn includes a RamBox cargo management system and southwestern styling accents, while the top-tier Limited showcases premium exterior elements and a unique grille design. All 2025 models come standard with LED headlights and updated taillights.
Engine (Power)
The Ram 2500 offers two powerful engine options. The standard 6.4-liter V-8 generates 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. Ram offers the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 engine with 430 horsepower and 1075 pound-feet of torque for those needing maximum capability. This upgraded engine is available on most trims. It includes a new turbocharger and fuel delivery system and now comes with glow plugs. Both engines pair with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, which delivers improved acceleration and smoother starts and reduces rpm by up to 25% on the highway.
Performance
The 2025 Ram 2500 delivers impressive capability. When equipped with the diesel engine, it can tow a maximum of 19,990 pounds, while models with the gas engine can handle a maximum payload of 4,000 pounds. The new transmission improves acceleration and provides smoother operation across all driving conditions. Rear-wheel or four-wheel drive is available, depending on the trim, and specialized off-road equipment is optional for specific models.
Interior
The 2025 Ram 2500's interior combines comfort with advanced technology. A 14.5-inch touchscreen display comes standard on the Limited and Limited Longhorn trims, while all models benefit from acoustic glass and active noise cancellation. Higher trims offer a 10.3-inch passenger interactive display.
This truck provides excellent connectivity with five USB ports and up to three 115-volt outlets capable of delivering 400 watts. Limited and Limited Longhorn trims add dual wireless charging pads, and select models offer a 2.4-kilowatt onboard power inverter. Premium materials throughout the cabin elevate the interior experience, particularly in upper trim levels.
Safety Features
Every 2025 Ram 2500 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control as standard equipment. Higher trim levels add blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, lane departure steering assist, and lane-centering steering.
Additional safety technologies include drowsy driver detection, traffic sign recognition, active lane management, and ParkSense front and rear park assist. These systems work together to provide comprehensive protection and driver assistance, particularly valuable given the truck's size and capabilities.
